Areea is a location-based social media app designed for efficient and meaningful interactions. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Areea. By accessing or using Areea, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. User Accounts
To use Areea, you must create an account using your phone number and define a username. Your username will remain private until you connect with another user by accepting their connection request or them accepting yours. Until then, users will see you as you are stored in their phone book.
Permissions Required:
- Phone Number: To create your account.
- Phone Book: To invite and add your connections.
- Location: To share approximate location details (e.g., city, country).
- Notifications: To stay informed about relevant updates. You can customize these notifications within the app.
3. Post-Cards and Feed
Areea enables you to connect with friends by sharing text-only post-cards. Define the broadcast radius to reach friends in specific locations, from your city to the entire globe.
Content Guidelines:
- Express yourself freely! Use hashtags for styling or to tag friends in your posts.
- Add links in comments to share useful resources like maps or music.
- Personalize your post-cards using the styles menu available when creating a post.
Your feed is organized to show posts from your connections based on where you are and their chosen broadcast area, ensuring you receive the most relevant updates in real-time.
4. Privacy and Control
Your privacy is our top priority. Areea requires only your approximate location and does not track your location in the background. We only use your location when you are actively using the app to personalize your experience.
Location Sharing:
- Connections List: Your connections are sorted by their current location. You can update your visible location at any time in the “My Location” settings.
- Posting: Control the visibility of your location with each post. Choose the level of accuracy you prefer, whether it’s city, country, region, or globally.
Areea ensures your location data is used solely to enhance your app experience, maintaining your privacy at all times.
5. Notifications
You’ll receive notifications for:
- Tags in posts.
- When a friend posts in your city for the first time.
- Comments on your posts.
6. User Conduct
Your profile is private, and you control who is on your connections list. If any of your connections bothers you, you can delete them, and they will stop seeing your posts. We expect users to respect others and use Areea responsibly. The use of Areea for illegal activities is strictly prohibited and is the sole responsibility of the user.
7. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms. You can also delete your account at any time.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. We’ll notify you of any changes by updating the terms on our app and sending you a notification.
