1. Acceptance & Eligibility

By using Areea you confirm that:

• You are at least 17 years old. If you are under 17, you may not use the Service.
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
• You are not barred from using the Service under any applicable law.

If you use Areea on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind it to these Terms.

2. The Service

Areea is a contacts-first, location-aware social app. With Areea you can:

• Connect with people from your phone contacts or by exact @username search.
• Post "PostCards" — short posts addressed to an audience you choose for each post: selected people, your city, your country, or Planet Earth. All scopes are contacts/connections-first; Planet Earth means your Areea contacts/connections wherever they are.
• Have conversations — every PostCard becomes a threaded conversation where eligible people can comment and reply.
• React, send pings to connections, mention users, and follow conversations to keep up with them.
• Report or block content/users when something crosses a line.

Areea is provided free of charge. There are no in-app purchases, subscriptions, or payments within the Service. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

3. Accounts & Security

• Sign-in is passwordless. You log in using a one-time code (OTP) sent to your phone number by SMS and/or to your email address. We do not use passwords or social logins.
• Keep access to your phone number and email secure. Anyone who can receive your one-time code can access your account.
• You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at app@areea.co if you believe your account has been used without authorization.
• You must provide accurate information and may not impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.

4. Your Content & the License You Grant Us

You own your content. PostCards, comments, messages, reactions, your username and display name, and anything else you create or submit ("User Content") remain yours.

To operate Areea, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, display, and transmit your User Content solely to provide, secure, and improve the Service — including delivering it to the contacts/connections and audience scope you choose. This license exists only so Areea can work; it ends when your content is deleted, except where retention is needed for legal, security, safety, moderation, or backup reasons described in these Terms or the Privacy Policy.

You represent that you have the rights necessary to post your User Content and that it does not violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines, applicable law, or anyone's rights.

You are solely responsible for your User Content. Areea does not endorse and is not responsible for User Content posted by others.

5. Acceptable Use

Areea should feel like a good group chat with better context: spontaneous, useful, and human. You may not use Areea to:

• threaten harm, encourage violence, or put someone in danger;
• harass, bully, intimidate, or repeatedly contact someone who clearly does not want contact;
• distribute spam, scams, fraud, phishing, or deceptive schemes;
• dox anyone or share another person's private information without consent;
• impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
• coordinate, sell, buy, or promote illegal activity;
• post sexual exploitation or child-safety violating content, including any sexual content involving minors;
• circumvent audience controls, blocking, reporting, or other safety features;
• interfere with, attack, scrape, reverse-engineer, or access the Service through unauthorized means.

The Community Guidelines describe these rules in a simpler, user-facing way and are part of these Terms.

6. Reporting, Blocking, Moderation & Enforcement

Areea gives users tools to control their circle:

• Remove contacts/connections when someone is no longer part of your circle.
• Block a user. Blocking is forward-looking: after a block, future contact, messages, pings, connection requests, and future visible PostCards between the blocked pair are prevented or filtered. Past shared history may remain where needed for context, safety, or moderation.
• Report a PostCard, message/comment, or user. Reports may include a reason and optional note.

We aim to review reports within 24–48 hours. Based on the content and context, we may dismiss the report, remove content, warn an account, limit/suspend/ban an account, or take steps needed for legal, safety, or platform compliance.

We are not obligated to monitor all content, but we reserve the right to review and remove content and to restrict or terminate accounts that we determine, in our reasonable judgment, violate these Terms or the Community Guidelines.

7. Termination & Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from within the app. When you delete your account:

• You are logged out and your profile/login identifiers are deleted or anonymized.
• All PostCards you created are deleted, along with their conversations.
• Comments/messages you left on other people's PostCards may remain visible as coming from "Deleted user", without your display name, username, profile, or location.
• Your contacts sync data, location state/history, connections, pings, connection requests, push tokens, and active sessions are removed or deactivated.
• We may retain limited moderation, safety, audit, or legally required records.

If you later sign up again with the same phone number or email, that is treated as a new account.

We may suspend or terminate your access — temporarily or permanently, with or without notice — if you violate these Terms or the Community Guidelines, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that content will be accurate, or that the Service will meet your expectations. You interact with other people through Areea at your own risk. We do not control and are not responsible for the conduct of other users or for User Content. Location features are approximate and should not be relied on where accuracy is critical.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Areea and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.

Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100), given that the Service is provided free of charge.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Wonions OÜ and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of or related to your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms, the Community Guidelines, applicable law, or the rights of any third party.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You and Areea agree to submit to the competent courts of Estonia for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as through the app or by updating the effective date above. Changes take effect when posted, and your continued use of the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service and may delete your account.
